Steve Martin is Pink! (There be spoilers here for The Pink Panther!)

30 10 2007

I was sitting in the van the other day, thinking. I decided to watch a movie. It was called The Pink Panther. Steve Martin plays the loveable Inspector Clouseau (I think that’s how you spell it). He is so goofy, it’s funny. Kevin Kline plays the scheming Cheif Inspector Dreyfuss, a monster of a character who is egotistical in every sense of the term. Beyone Knowles, the pop singer, plays the “international pop star” (talk about completely changing your identity for a movie) Xania who’s boyfriend is murdered. My two favorite performances, however, are delivered by Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer. Reno plays Ponton, Clouseau’s sidekick (”Since you are only a detective second class…”). He had a very unique way of containing his laughter. He would “bite” his fist with his fingernails. He is without a doubt my favorite character because he works for Dreyfuss at the beginning, and then turns over to Clouseau’s side. Nicole (Mortimer) is Dreyfuss’ secretary and a faithful comrade for Clouseau. She is overshadowed by Beyonce’s popularity.

This movie is among my favorite movies.

Watch it! Now! “Why aren’t you with him now?” “I’m with you.” “Get out.”

It’s Just Full of Lists, Huh?

16 10 2007

I got another list for ya’ll but I’m just gonna drop a few comments on some other stuff.
Go Canes! Rocks in the Series, and, um, go Canes!

Top 10 Movies
1. Ocean’s Eleven-Despite what my English teacher says, this movie’s cast list makes it a lot better. The music helps too.
2. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off- The Most Hilarious Movie Ever Made. “Ferris Bueller, you’re my hero.”
3. Left Behind-Great action, great story, great everything on a great book with a great series. Did I mention how great it is?
4. The Bourne Ultimatum-The only sequel I’ve ever seen worth watching again, and again, and again…
5. Pirates of the Carribean 1-”It’s Captain Jack Sparrow.”
6. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace- Darth Maul is the best villain in Star Wars (Sorry, Vader).
7. The Chronicles of Narnia 1-Can’t wait for the second one. Another Liam Neeson film on the list.
8. The Prestige-The ABRAcadabra of this story makes it interesting. (Check it’s IMDB profile for the ABRA part (trivia)).
9. Cinderella Man-Another great story with spectacular music.
10. Casino Royale- 007, the first one I saw. Excellent. Made James Bond seem almost human.

My Current Playlist

12 10 2007

Following in the footsteps of my dad and Billy Liggett, I shall do my own version of what I’m listening to right now.

1. “A Whisper and a Clamor”-Anberlin: I discovered this song by playing a video game, NHL 08. I enjoy the guitar riffs and the drums. “Hell is never knowing who we are now” is my favorite part.

2. “Love Addict”-Family Force 5: “Hold up, wait a minute, put a little love in it!” My youth group encouraged me to listen to this song, which also has some good guitar. Although I don’t normally enjoy screaming, it’s not to bad in this song.

3. “Kountry Gentleman”-Family Force 5: If I had a theme song, this would be it. Unfortunately, I don’t have a mullet.

4. “Alive”-P.O.D.: Another great guitar song. “I, feel so alive, for the very first time, I can’t deny you!”

5. “Misery Business”-Paramore: One of the few girl singers I like leads this guitar-driven piece.

6. “Breathe Into Me”-Red: Another song with some screaming. “Breathe your life into me, I can’t feel you, I’m faaalling, falling faster.”

7. “Face Down”-The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus: A great song with some guitar as well. (What song doesn’t have guitar?)

8. “I Need You”-Relient K: One of my favorite songs by my favorite band. Seeing them in November.

9. “Rebirthing”-Skillet: The violin fits in nicely with the elec guitar on this piece. Going to see them in concert in December.

10. “Get the Party Started”-TobyMac: A great pump-up song. Seeing him with Skillet in December.

11. “Momentum”-TobyMac: “Been on a roll for 2000 years or so! We got momentum baby!”

12. “Ignition”-TobyMac: This song was featured on an ESPN commercial for NASCAR a month ago. Fittingly.

13. “Hey There Delilah”-Plain White T’s: My favorite song, maybe. Second or third.

14. “Yesterdays”-Switchfoot: A song about reacting after a death. A nice relaxing song.

15. “An Epiphany”-The Send: A great piano song.

A combination of a couple playlists.

Leaves Fall and Senators Call (Twice)

12 10 2007

I’m back!~!!!

The Carolina Hurricanes are playing some great hockey after the miserable 2-0 loss to the Washington Capitals. Jeff Hamilton, Eric Staal, Matt Cullen, and Erik Cole all played two great games against the Toronto Maple Leafs (gramatically incorrect) and the Ottawa Senators, leading to 7-1 and 5-3 wins against each, respectively. Hamilton has surprised, putting up five points in five games. Staal has 5 goals in the same time frame. Cullen had 3 points against Toronto and Cole scored 2 goals last night, including the game-winner.

Another interesting thing to happen yesterday was that Senator Richard Burr of my home state of North Carolina visited my school. It delayed my chemistry test an hour, but that didn’t help at all as I got a 77 on it (good for a C+ at O’Neal). He was interesting. He supports John McCain for president, not my personal favorite but a decent choice. He said that he was not interested in being president himself. Darn. I kinda liked him.

Peace out home dogs
