I haven’t just started rambling on a post in a while; there’s always been an objective, a task I needed to accomplish. This time I’m just rambling. Have fun.

The Carolina Hurricanes are becoming a woefully inconsistent team. It’s absolutely pitiful. Last night, after staging a comeback, they fell 3-2 to the Florida Panthers. The Florida Panthers! It’s absolutely pitiful. It makes me ashamed to be a Hurricanes fan. At least my two favorite players scored. Tuomo Ruutu is becoming a player we need to keep around the trade deadline unless we are in last place. He’s fourth on the team in points and picked up his 7th goal last night. Chad LaRose scored his 6th against Florida and is 8th on the team in scoring points despite playing some games on the fourth line. Those players are my favorites because they can score, skate and hit. Yes, Tuomo needs to work on his balance a bit, but otherwise they are probably the two best players we have so far this year. Ryan Bayda also ranks up there.

I am now 2 games into a streak on ESPN.com’s Streak for the Cash. My first victory came in an NBA matchup on Sunday. The New Orleans Saints’ demolishing of the Green Bay Packers gave me #2. Today’s match is a international one: UEFA Champions League Soccer. I picked a Juventus win or draw with Zenit Petersburg. Recently a couple of people almost won the $1 million associated with the game. I’m doing it for fun. It is fun.

I just read this on FOXNEWS.com: Madonna wants to build an all-girls’ school in Malawi, Africa. Uh-oh. I hope she doesn’t have a say in hiring the teachers. That would be bad for the world.

I’m really excited about this holiday season. There are movies coming out in theaters (Valkyrie, Frost/Nixon), on DVD (The Dark Knight), CDs releasing (FM Static’s Dear Diary) and Thanksgiving and Christmas! Then it’s the Princes, my favorite awards show. Maybe I’m a bit biased because it’s my own show, but it should be fun. I might actually record it like a radio show and post it on here like a podcast. That’s an idea. Hmmm.
